La Pesadilla De La Desesperacion

The roots of Rock En Español or Rock Latino, go as far back as Richie Valens and La Bamba. He was the first Latin rock artist to cross over way back in 1958. It’s not a straight line from Valens to Taxi Amarillo, but it contains relevant pit stops with such Rock En Español heavyweights as Santana, Mana and Juanes. All four members of  Taxi Amarillo were established musicians, touring and recording with such big names as Alejandro Sanz, Alicia Keys and Shakira, before coming together in 2007.  Founding member and frontman  Chris Hierro started the band as a duo with Pedro Cruz Montesino, but in 2006 Pedro left the band and the current line-up of Taxi Amarillo was born. “Donde Has Estado” is the second single off the self-entitled debut album. It’s the richness of their sound that I like. And the unpredictable and quirky changes in mood and rhythm all throughout the song. Vivid and compelling.
